    It is totally unbelievable that so many folks are becoming aware of the need for “rain barrels,” “rainwater harvesting,” “water conservation,” “composting,” and other eco-friendly methods of taking care of God’s precious gifts.

    I’m of a generation that, “this was just the right and proper thing to do” just to exist! We valued every drop of water and every inch of soil we could use for gardens from which we harvested our food.

    Composting was a daily given chore, knowing it necessary, to provide a healthier Victory Garden. Rain barrels, cisterns, rain gardens, root cellars were a “must have” back then just to exist.

    Thankfully, we have become an educated, progressive, nation that understands the need to conserve what God so richly blessed us with. Including, the very rainwater that falls into our modern rain gutters, then channeled into our rain barrels to be used in place of potable water, that is so precious and priceless. Knowing how it saves us many hundreds of dollars annually on water bills, as well.

    Please, if you consider one thing I’ve said, I would hope it to be impressed upon your heart, to get those rain barrels set up and working smoothly, keep those rain gutters cleaner, for the time is getting close when they will become a means of survival.
