New Super Mario Bros held on strong with the top software spot, but Mass Effect 2 was hot on its trail with a staggering 572,000 units sold in only 6 days of tracking. EA’s internal figures suggested the game had sold 2 million in the first week, but that probably includes the PC version and international releases. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 kept its own against Nintendo’s evergreen contenders, with two appearances on the list. Finally, some new titles made reasonably successful debuts, including Darksiders, Army of Two: The 40th Day, and the Wii game Just Dance.
